A house designed to blend into a suburban Post-Edwardian streetscape of tightly spaced houses in Hampton. The interior spaces are organized as an unfolding spiral slowly unfurling from a central space that becomes the communal heart of the house. All interior levels are dictated by the upward-moving spiral that organizes rooms and circulation spaces. The spiral overcomes the distinctions between above and below, upstairs and downstairs, creating softer, more fluid relations between spaces and uses, public and private.
