Located between the Sierra Blanca and the Mediterranean Sea, Marbella has turned during the 20th century from a small village to a privileged holiday destination for the European High Society and Arabian royalty.
The W Hotel Marbella is located on the Gold Mile that stretches for four miles from the western edge of Marbella to Puerto Banús. The area is exclusive and home to some of Marbella’s most luxurious villas and estates with spectacular views of mountain and sea, such as the Palace of King Fahd, as well as landmark hotels, among them the Melia Don Pepe, the Marbella Club and Puente Romano.
Most of the hotels in Marbella date from the 1980s and there is no truly contemporary luxury offer. The W Marbella Hotel will be a 5 star hotel for a younger guest, adapted for the local climate, working with shading structures, vegetation and natural ventilation. A rooftop pool extending across the entire building and extensive nightclub spaces will provide unique views across the mediterranean and provide options for late night entertainment. The rooms are oriented to offer framed views of the building’s inner voids and courtyards as well as views to the sea and the mountain, facing away from the party spaces to allow for uninterrupted sleeping in.A number of long-stay residential units are connected to the hotel by an infinity pool for anyone finding it impossible to leave.
